Lactation consultation by telephone or e-mail
Most problems are best handled in person but some questions can be answered on the phone or through e-mail and I will be happy to do so. If it is more complicated I will tell you. For established patients (those who have had a home session with this baby) there is no charge for follow-up phone calls. For Non-Established Clients the charge for telephone assistance is $15.00 for up to 10 minutes and $1.00 for each minute there after. E-mail assistance will be charged at $10.00 per e-mail. Payment can be made by credit card over the phone.
It is of paramount importance that we protect ourselves and our families from the spread of the COVID-19 virus. It is equally important that breastfeeding families receive the support and assistance they want and need.
My role is to help parents sort through the information they have been given and that which has been passed on to them. It is essential to sort out the facts from the myths so that parents can make informed decisions for themselves. You can read some common breastfeeding myths here, more myths here, still more myths here, and more and more myths here. Return to top

What our clients say …
Thank you so much for your caring calls
The Breastfeeding Goddess
Everything’s going great!
When my son was born I was told by the pediatrician on call that due to the breast surgery I would absolutely NOT be able to breastfeed my baby and will HAVE to give him formula. Needless to say I was devastated by such a definite verdict. Fortunately I had the opportunity to meet with Patricia Drazin, the lactation consultant before I delivered and she came to visit me at the hospital. She gave me much needed support, advice and encouragement to try despite the opinion of the doctor, keeping of course the well-being of the baby the absolute priority. Through the ongoing support she gave me over numerous telephone conversations and personal meetings at the hospital in the days following my delivery I was able to establish a successful breastfeeding, providing both my son and myself with all the health and emotional benefits it warrants. My son is fed exclusively by breast milk; he is gaining weight and is otherwise a healthy child.
I would like to stress that this would be impossible without Patricia’s help, not only in the initial stages at the hospital but later by working out many problems and obstacles encountered in the first few weeks.
